Construction Superintendent
Responsibilities:
- Directs activities of a construction crew.
- Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction
on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements.
- Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered
at specific times and conform to work schedules.
- Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged
in planning and executing work schedules, and coordinating
various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms
to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used
and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated on reports.
- Conducts and documents weekly safety meetings and regular
job hazard analysis reviews and makes adjustments accordingly
to ensure safe jobsites.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years construction experience
working in the capacity of Superintendent on Federal projects.
- Must be knowledgeable in general building and civil construction.
- Must be able to problem solve - ability to identify and
resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze
information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, and
work well in group problem solving situations.
Computer skills required i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,
etc.
- Must have completed OSHA 30 hour training in the last
3 years and have copy of card.
- Must have completed NAVFAC or USACE CQM training in the
last 3 years.
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Western United
States for long periods of time.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Note: These are minimum requirements for this position. This
position requires a physical lifting capability of at least
100 pounds and requires repetitive hand movements as well
as physical dexterity and mobility. This is not a training
